Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Cheatmaker is a product of Versera. When we say “we”, “us”, or “our”, we mean Versera. We are committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we use it. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and how — in plain English.

By using Cheatmaker, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Service.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the Service:

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture via Google OAuth. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Syllabus input

The text you paste into the syllabus field is sent to our AI model to generate revision notes. This text is stored in our database (Supabase) as part of your draft record so you can download the generated file.

Generated content

The AI-generated cheatsheet entries and your layout preferences are stored in our database to enable PDF/DOCX export. Exported files are stored in Supabase Storage for a limited period.

Usage analytics

We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the product is used in aggregate — page views, feature usage, session recordings. These tools may set cookies. No personally identifiable information is shared with these analytics platforms.

Technical data

IP addresses are temporarily processed for rate limiting purposes (to prevent abuse of our AI quota). They are not stored persistently or linked to your account.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To generate AI revision notes from your syllabus input
  • To store and serve your generated PDF/DOCX exports
  • To authenticate your session via Google OAuth
  • To protect the Service from abuse through rate limiting
  • To understand usage patterns and improve the product (analytics)

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Cheatmaker:

  • Supabase — database, file storage, and authentication infrastructure. Your data resides on Supabase-managed infrastructure.
  • OpenAI — AI text generation. Your syllabus text is sent to OpenAI’s API to produce revision notes. OpenAI’s data usage policy applies to this processing.
  • Google OAuth — sign-in only. We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, or any other Google service.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics.
  • Microsoft Clarity — session heatmaps and interaction analytics.

5. Data Retention

Draft records and generated sections are retained in our database until you delete them or we clean up old records. Exported PDF/DOCX files in storage are automatically purged after 7 days. If you request deletion of your account and associated data, we will action it within 30 days — contact us at cheatmaker.help@versera.in.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Session management (Supabase Auth stores a session token in a cookie)
  • Analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent sign-in from working correctly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on our database, and service-role key separation for server-side operations. No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly to cheatmaker.help@versera.in.

9. Children’s Privacy

Cheatmaker is intended for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted with an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
