Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2025 · Effective immediately
1. About Cheatmaker
Cheatmaker is an AI-powered revision tool built by Versera. Its sole purpose is to help students convert lengthy syllabi into concise, structured revision notes — commonly called “cheat sheets” in the academic community. The word “cheat” in our name is a widely understood colloquial term for a quick-reference study aid. We do not endorse, encourage, or facilitate academic dishonesty of any kind.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Cheatmaker (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
3. Intended Use
Cheatmaker is designed exclusively for legitimate personal study and revision purposes, including:
- Summarising course syllabi into revision-friendly bullet points
- Creating printable reference cards for last-minute review
- Organising study material before examinations
The Service must not be used to:
- Generate material intended to be smuggled into or used during a closed-book examination in violation of that institution’s rules
- Facilitate plagiarism, impersonation, or any form of academic fraud
- Reproduce copyrighted educational material for unauthorised distribution
4. User Responsibility & Misuse Disclaimer
You are solely responsible for how you use the content generated by this Service. Cheatmaker and Versera expressly disclaim any liability arising from:
- Any violation of your educational institution’s academic integrity policies
- Academic penalties, suspensions, or expulsions resulting from misuse of generated content
- Any other consequences arising from actions taken by the user
We provide a tool. What you do with it is your decision and your responsibility. We trust our users to act ethically.
5. Accuracy of AI-Generated Content
Cheatmaker uses large language model (AI) technology to generate revision notes. While we strive for quality, AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or errors. You should always verify generated content against authoritative course materials. Cheatmaker and Versera are not liable for decisions made based on incorrect AI output.
6. Account & Authentication
Access to certain features (such as downloading generated files) requires signing in with a Google account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. We use Supabase Auth and Google OAuth solely to identify your session — we do not store your Google password.
7. Intellectual Property
The Cheatmaker platform, branding, and underlying code are the intellectual property of Versera. AI-generated revision notes produced from your own syllabus input belong to you. You grant Versera a limited, non-exclusive licence to process your input solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
8. Service Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Versera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of academic standing, or loss of opportunities.
10. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it. Please read it.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will always display the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
